Status Quo - means the state of affairs that existed previously. The state of affairs (in relation to their music) that lead up to Status Quo (the band) going from being a credible blues psychedelic pop band to the utter shite argos jingle bollocks they spew out now must have involved them being completely brainwashed after taking a fair old amount of acid.
